I did ten questionarries for my target audience to see how they felt my magazine looked professional, what was good, could be improved etc.
My feedback was really good, here is an example of what one member of my target audience thought;
What does the title suggest?
That it's an indie music magazine
What genre of music does the magazine focus on and how do you know this?
Indie/rock music, this is shown through the colour scheme, fonts and the band used.
What makes the pages look professional and what stops them from looking professional?
good photogragh and colour scheme. Variety of fonts, however more sub-headings could have been used to show the reader whats inside.
How genuine does the front cover seem?
Very genuine and interesting, i like the photogragh and large mast head. They work well together.
Does the contents page simply inform or does it also manage to interest you in reading the rest of the magazine?
Informs, more than it invites you in, however it is laid out well, is easy to follow and gives me an idea of whats inside, could of had more pictures though, to invite the reader in.
Does the article sound like a piece of journalism? If not what bits don’t sound right?
Yes it's really good, it gives you a sense of the bands lifestyle and is laidback and like a conversation, the band are funny, which makes it intersting and good to read.
Does the article layout make you want to read it? If not why?
Yes, the photograghs look really good, and the layout is easy to follow, the large blue captions catch your eye and look good in contrast to the black writing.
Overall my target audience felt my magazine was “very interesting” and the article was “laid back and like a conversation. They also said it looked “very genuine” and the journalism was “funny, however,
This shows my magazine has fulfilled it’s potential, and it suits my target audience. As results from my audience feedback show that 8/10 of my audience felt my magazine was genuine, and interesting.

Final project - front cover
I am happy with my front cover, i think the mast head looks really good and stands out, as well as my photo, which i cut out, using photoshop. The colours are relevant to my 'indie' genre and also relate back to my contents, aswell as my text. I have used strap lines at both the top and bottom of the page, a barcode with a web address, date, issue number etc. I have highlighted the feature article on my front page, this stands out in the middle aswell as having other sub headings of whats inside the magazine. All this is relavent to my theme, and makes my magazine look professional. However, initially my colour scheme was blues and purple, but this changed to make my magazine look more professional and relavent to it's genre.
